Educational Tours Educational tours to places associated with technological advancement, history and cultural heritage are actively undertaken at Cathedral, and these extend to students the opportunity to broaden their intellectual and cultural horizons. N.I.E. and D.H.I.E N.I.E. and D.H.I.E. sponsored by the Times of India and the Deccan Herald respectively, aim at educating pupils through newspapers. Students are helped to take an intelligent interest in current affairs, the object being to expand their knowledge of the world. It also empowers them to participate in various inter-school competitions.
Green Cats 'Green Cats' in collaboration with CMCA (Children's Movement for Civic Awareness) aim at fostering environmental awareness among school children. Members are actively involved in social service, in setting up solid waste management, creating litter free zones, helping plant trees and producing a newsletter on environmental concerns' Fields trips to study flora and fauna in their natural environment, exhibitions on ‘Global warming’,‘Deforestation’ and ‘Pollution’, awareness creating competitions, talks on environmental concerns by experts and film shows related to environmental issues were the main programmes of the ‘Green Cats’. House System The Cathedral student body is divided into five houses: Pettigrew, Courpalais, Stracy, Richmond and Whistance. Inter-house competitions are held in a variety of events. This time-tested system encourages healthy internal competition, develops personal and inter-personal skills and a sense of responsibility and loyalty. Each house has its own House Song.
