In 1866, Cathedral began as a charitable institution catering to underprivileged children.  Eventually it was transformed into a full fledged school.  We therefore have a very long history and a heritage that we are proud of. Cathedral has been committed to a philosophy of relentless progress, an unceasing striving towards quality and excellence in every sphere of education. We are delighted to inform you that the overwhelming majority of our alumni are in very good positions, both here in India and across the globe.

Our large campus, in the heart of the city, has plenty of room - and opportunities - for spirited youngsters to exercise their bodies, and an impressive array of resources to facilitate their intellectual growth and creativity. At Cathedral, we believe that education is much more than mere knowledge transfer. It is a comprehensive process by which children are accompanied on their journey towards an all-round development of personality and a distinctively individual identity. This involves development of three vital domains: knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Our objective is to enable every Cathedralite to become proactive and resourceful, to develop a strong sense of values, and a compassionate concern for the underprivileged sections of society.

Cathedral High School is an institution run by a Christian church – the Karnataka Central Diocese (KCD) of the Church of South India. This means that the core values of this school are based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, people of all faith, traditions, castes and creeds are welcome here. While instruction in Christian scriptures is obligatory for Christian students, those from other faiths are exempted and have Value Education classes instead. Cathedral affirms India's pluralist ethos and aims to develop in students a deep commitment to the values of secular democracy and civic responsibility.
