History
Cathedral owes its establishment to the selfless zeal of an outstanding clergyman and humanitarian visionary, the Rev. S.T. Pettigrew.   In 1866, Rev. Pettigrew, a missionary of the Church of England and an alumnus of Cambridge University, founded Cathedral to serve the educational needs of the underprivileged children of Bangalore. Rev. Pettigrew, incidentally, also founded the Bishop Cotton's School, Bangalore at about the same time. Over the next century, Cathedral   evolved into a premier high school, known for its emphasis on an all-round character forming education. Rev. Pettigrew also founded the All Saints’ Church and served as its chaplain for a few years. This charming church building, which is 145 years old, adjoins the school campus. All the chapel services of the school are held there and so are the Scripture Union classes.
